Volunteer with us

Why volunteer with us?

As a newly registered charity we are reliant on volunteers to undertake a variety of roles which include volunteering as a trustee, peer mentor, social media officer, finance and general administrative volunteer roles.

We really value the contribution volunteers bring to Plushealth, as without their commitment we couldn’t continue our valuable work.

Our services and charity organisation operate on a completely digital basis, with the majority of our roles offering the convenience to volunteer your time from home.

We encourage our volunteers to contribute to the development of Plushealth and in return we are committed to providing role specific training and other opportunities for our volunteers to develop their knowledge and skills.

We provide monthly group or 1 to 1 supervision meetings for our peer mentor volunteers, with additional training and mentoring for all our volunteers to ensure that are fully supported and feel part of the wider Plushealth team.

Safeguarding people who use our services, our volunteers and staff members is of upmost importance to us as a charitable organisation. Aside from our legal responsibilities to prevent the abuse or neglect of vulnerable adults and young people, we strive to ensure all volunteers and staff promote the well-being of adults and young people at all times.

Some of our volunteer roles are subject to background checks (Disqualification and Barring Service - DBS checks) to ensure we only recruit people who are suitable to fulfil roles that involve contact with vulnerable adults and young people. Having a criminal conviction or the disclosure other important information provided by a DBS check doesn’t necessarily prevent you from volunteering with us. Any recruitment decision will be dependent on the nature of the volunteer role sought together with the circumstances detailed on the DBS check.
